Iris era la diosa del Arco Iris y esposa de Céfiro en la mitología griega y con este nombre se conoce este género.
Estas bellas flores de invierno nos acompañaron prácticamente por todo el Sendero Sources in Algodonales our departure on 11 January. These beautiful flowers, stems are shown as blue spots of different shades, but sometimes have some white flowers. We were lucky to meet with almost half of our journey.
