PARTIAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN IN THE SIERRA DE GRAZALEMA (01.04.2011) TRAIL OF SOURCES

Just start in 2011 we have seen a partial eclipse of the sun in Spain and of course in our Sierra de Grazalema. The eclipse coincided with the dawn, producing its maximum size about 8:45 am (7:45 UT). Viewed from Villamartin (Cádiz) the first rays of the sun, and eclipsed, appeared at 8:57, ie 11 minutes after the maximum. His departure came just over the mountains and in particular on the southern slopes of the Sierra del Pinar (Torreón).

The image below shows the silhouette of the sun, and eclipsed, leaving behind this hillside. Below each image is the time that was taken in hours UT (an hour to take the official time).

This other image shows the real horizon of the dawning of that day, seen from Villamartin (Cádiz). On her image has been added, also real, the silhouette of the sun, but obtained from another photo taken with filter. Also overlapped the silhouette of the Moon (simulation) obtained by processing of the image of the sun and plotted along the arc of a circle that gives the eclipse. The image of both stars is larger the real, but roughly in place for at 9:17 pm.
From left to right the profile of the horizon shows the Cerro San Cristobal, the Tower (including both the crest), the summit plateau of Simancón, saw the rest of the Endrinal and Caille and closer and us the castle tower on the hill Matrera Pajarete. The fog covers the plains of Villamartin.
