PORT RUDDER - ARROYO COMARES - Villamartin (CADIZ)

Villamartin and the surrounding area are crossed by several streams. This route is a leisurely stroll through one of them, namely the Cañada Real de los Puertos. His condition is deplorable and 72 m wide, which should have been reduced to a narrow path, overflowing with weeds and almost lost some parts by the action of the wadis. Still be worth the ride.
The Wikiloc route.
route sheet.

recommend reading the tab to be clear as you reach the trailhead. Once at the starting point, alongside a modern gate through which you access the Newlands farmhouse of San Jose's rural housing (Cortijo Rudder Port), take the canyon to see the clear picture on ascent to port.
Villamartin, on the western horizon, it is becoming increasingly behind.
note which was great Cañada Real reduced to a short path.
Once past the soft port began the descent. The small height reached allows us to dominate the environment of rounded hills and hills. Several of these hills (Bermejo is the best known) are the small mountain we see the substance known as Santa Lucia, where stands a trig.
After another of these hills we can see clearly the Sierra The Gastor and two peaks: Lagarina and Grajas. To the right of Zahara de la Sierra. If we click on the photo will come to better distinguish your castle.
Another saw more, this time to sand, close to Algodonales and La Muela.
And finally, Sierra Margarita and the foothills that precede it. From it come the waters of the streams that cross soon after. In the distance the Sierra del Pinar to the Tower and the start of the watershed.
The gullies and the lack of care are "eating" little by little the narrow path is left of the ravine.
First stream found, the Friar, a tributary of Comares. Glen used to be in this area for agricultural machinery, the sidewalk becomes lane, even its look worse.
us at the end of our way and we entertain ourselves in taking a picture of the beautiful and scented flowers that adorn the edges of the path.

soon got dark and we could not take any pictures "decent" of Comares and the narrow stream along which narrow. Glen continues, in principle, to Zahara, but after crossing the Comares and move a few hundred yards from a rail current almost disappears.
